Beware of Cash for Citizenship Scam
« on: April 26, 2009, 01:39:38 PM »
Eight men from City Wide Learning Centre in Sheffield have been charged with conspiracy to defraud for their involvement in a "cash for citizenship" scam.

People who are about to take the Life in the UK test need not resort to illegal measures if they know the right and easy way to prepare themselves for the exam.

I don't think most people on this site would be victimized in a scam like that, because we've got the benefit of knowing the language.  Sure, some of us stress out about the test, but I doubt any of us do to the extent we'd shell out a bunch of money to cheat.  Not because we're more moral, just because we've got the benefit of a common language, and a lot of exposure to British culture before moving here.  Most of us study a book and take the test.

Are you involved in the production of that guide advertised on that site by any chance?

This type of thing seems to have been going on since they started making people take the test.

Henry Dillon is the editor of that guide, and this is a not-very-subtle attempt at plugging his book.

Henry also subjected himself to answering questions in our chatroom some time back, of which he probably regrets now. :)
