Extra pages sewn in to passport
« on: June 26, 2009, 04:07:50 PM »
Hello all,

I need extra pages sewn in to my passport. However, the web site I was directed to can not be used if abroad, and hence can not use Form DS4085.

I was told to call the US Consulate in London or Scotland, but I don't know who to speak and literally was bumped in to a loop that went no where. Any one have any ideas?

cheers

According to the US Embassy in London you can use that form

http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/acs/passports/extra.html

Quote
Passport form DS-4085: Application for Additional Visa Pages. Please ignore page one of the printed instruction pages, as it does not apply when applying for extra pages in the United Kingdom. If you experience trouble with the Passport Application Wizard, click here for Form DS-4085 [PDF].

Just use the PDF file.

Wow.  How about the one in Scotland? I ask as that's the one I'm closest to and would prefer to go there.

Checking...

Looks like you can only do it by Special Delivery mail and takes about 5 working days. http://www.usembassy.org.uk/scotland/pages.html

FYI - they don't sew them in, they stick them.  does the same job.

Hmm...last time I got extra pages, they were sewn in.  They had a special machine that does it.
