R.I.P., indeed.  Here's a beautifully-written blog post by a woman who corresponded with John Hughes for two years as a teenager: http://wellknowwhenwegetthere.blogspot.com/2009/08/sincerely-john-hughes.html

So sad!  I so wanted to be Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink - the cool wardrobe and working in a record store! But I'd have dumped Blane for Duckie for sure!

Wow.  While I was saddened to hear of his death yesterday, after reading that I am genuinely mournful.  Thanks for sharing it.

Wow for me too! I just read the blog....amazing!

Yesterday when I read of his death and realized that we hadn't seen/heard about him for a long time and the article said that he had left Hollywood many years ago to spend time with his family and enjoy life, I thought "good for him".

My point, I think a lot of the Hollywood types should do just as he did....meaning have their time of success and move on and enjoy the rest of their life. It's tragic that his ended so soon....what a talented and lovely man he was.  ;)
