*note to self: never ever travel alone with a baby again!*
Trip to US was AWFUL.
Don't believe airlines when they promise you that your stroller will be waiting for you when you land. If there are "too many babies onboard" - it won't be waiting! Bring a sling! Otherwise you'll be holding the baby, your luggage, and generally being a miserable crying mess. Also only bring 1 carryon, not one for you and one for baby! Also try not to sit by complete cows who won't get up for you and who make you CRAWL over them to get up and change your baby, pee, or whatever. Also, it's more difficult than you might imagine to clean up baby pee from an entire airplane toilet. Avoid the rainbow pee arch whatever you do.
The trip back was awful as well, but still much better. I brought only 1 bag, the staff were helpful when Philip was a screaming mess (his bed time was right during a delayed boarding and he wouldn't settle). I *again* sat by complete cows who wouldn't give up their TVs, and because they wouldn't give up their TV's Philip's seat didn't have room to fold down from the wall, so I had to sit with him on my chest and couldn't eat or anything. The staff had pity on me though, I was crying, baby was crying, neighbors were pissed off (and obviously not parents) - so they upgraded me to business class so we could get some sleep. Sweet Victory. I brough my baby bjorn sling this time around so when they told me AGAIN that too many babies were on board to keep strollers accessible, I didn't care because I had another way to cart him around through immigration and baggage claim.
Lessons Learned.
