I had to sign the official form that the driving examiner used to mark my practical driving test.  It was the first thing that he had me do after I showed him my pass from the theory test.  So this is not something an individual examiner is asking only their test candidates; it's the official DVLA form.  On the very top left hand corner it asks if you have been resident in the UK for 6 months; you sign that you have been and then you are allowed in the car to begin your test.  I had to do it twice as I failed the test on the first try!

And no, we didn't move from the EEA; DH and I moved from California and had driving licences from there.

I just got my license in October, and wasn't asked how long I lived in the UK or where I was from, no signature required.

orkneytime, which test centre is that, that is wrongly applying the regulations? I think the correct legislation needs to be drawn to their attention.

It would be interesting to learn who has invented the form that you refer to, which is clearly not in line with the legislation.

It might be on the form, but not a prerequisite for allowing the test to continue.  Does it just say sign to confirm you have been resident for 6 months, or does it actually ask the question and give you a yes/no option to declare?

Don't forget that there is now an extra "hazard perception" test too -- All very complex and expensive compared to how it used to be.   :(

I just booked my Theory test for September 2nd.  Will this test include the Hazard Perception test or is there something else I need to book?   :-\\\\
