Our story so far
« on: August 04, 2009, 11:36:44 AM »
Can I please say I love you guys when I'm feeling down and dispondant I read your stories and I leave with hope in my heart.

John and I met during the first part of the year, I have visited him in Pennsylvania in June and he was due here on the 29th of july, but his passport has been denied due to child support issues. the tickets were brought and paid for................. He is however going though state court to see if he can get it.

Anyway I am now going there for 3 weeks I travel on sunday till the 31st of August. I am really
excited but there is the other part that's now worrying they wont let me in.

We love each other very much and our relationship is strong we are both willing to go the distance to be together however long it takes. We both have to get divorced yet which will take a while too.

My concern is I work, Johns retired, I have a passport, he does'nt. What if he cannot get his passport I dont have much holiday left................. I'm worried how I'm going to cope when I have to leave him and if we have to spend months apart.

I know it can and will be done and endured, but I fine it hard..............

thanks for listening to me.

He's retired and he has children under the age of majority? Woohoo! Sounds like a hot one, Cassie.

I don't have any advice about passports, but I have a PhD in LDR. We did it for eleven years (thirteen if you count from first email), sometimes with many months between visits. It was an accident -- we never dreamed it would take so long to get everything settled. Sometimes being in the middle is a terrible handicap: not rich enough to do as you please, not poor enough to up stakes and move without a backward glance.

My advice is to take a deep breath and prepare for a bit of a wild ride.

Oh it will be very hard, but I know that it's worth it. I haven't been dealing with everything as long Stoatula. I'm going on year 7 right now! but we've only really been dating for two years and engaged for 1 lol and there are probably so many things that you'd never expect to have to go through, but I think it only makes the relationship stronger. If you can survive this, you can survive anything. So just keep that in mind :) and know that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. Xx*:..
