Can I bring my daughter's chinchilla with us?
« on: September 03, 2009, 02:24:40 PM »
This is an animal that I can't seem to find out info on.  Do they have to quarantined for 6 months because this type of animal is so sensitive it would probably kill him the flight might kill him as well I just don't know.  Also he doesn't have any shots because you can't give them to chins because they could die. Just hate to leave the little fellow behind but might have to

I'm pretty sure chinchillas would fall in under "rabbits and rodents" and for entry from non-EU countries, it appears that they have to be quarantined for 6 months.

Ok yeah I think I see that now.  Do any of you know how much it would cost to have him quarantined?  And do they treat the animals well or do you have to go and take care of them?  Because chins are really fragile I'm worried him being quarantined could kill him.
