Where I live in Leicester, it costs 1.60 to town and usually 1.50 to get home. It's less than 5 minutes. We don't do return, because we take a different bus/carrier home because of where the stops are. It kills me every time we go into town (not very often these days). It's worse going to Asda... 2.00 one way. We probably could do return for that trip and theoretically save a few pence, but then we may have to let the other carrier's bus pass us by.
We are hoping to get bikes this coming week when the refurbishing place restocks. Then we'll be able to go more places and do more things without having to fork over the extra money. I can't even say we are saving money by not having a car, because there just isn't enough of it to consider owning one. We even had someone offer us a FREE car, but it's not worth it right now.
