Little aspects of the move you nearly forgot about!
« on: August 06, 2009, 04:48:33 PM »
It looks like we're a few weeks away from the move, and I thought I would start this thread in the hope that people might be able to give some advice, perhaps from personal experience, about those little things you nearly (or actually) forgot to take care of before you moved.

Share those cautionary tales here, so that I (and others!) might learn from your experiences....

It's just occurred to me that I haven't contacted my bank yet to tell them I'm moving!  I should probably sort that out soon.

Leaving too many things until the last minute, particularly getting rid of possessions.

I didn't get all of my medical records and now really wish I had.  I have been to a specialist in the UK who wants my US records and I am having a really hard time getting them out here now.

I asked my doc about this, and he said it'd cost $10 to get copies, but would be free if the surgery called and asked for it, so I decided to go that route (because I'm cheap! ;) ) Hmm... perhaps I should have just forked over the $10.

I almost forgot to return my cable modem, change my address early and get a new toilet seat for the apartment (roommate soiled this one with hair dye).
