Rosh Hashanah
« on: September 13, 2009, 11:27:30 AM »
Just wondering if anyone is cooking anything special?

I've decided to invite some friends over this year and will make a relatively traditional meal including brisket, kugel, chopped liver and even gefilte fish, though I don't think my guests will like that very much.  :)

Also, any tips on cooking a good brisket? I nearly went for a rib roast instead because I'm afraid that my brisket will be too dry but the price and the desire to be more traditional made me go for the brisket.  :P

I have such a busy busy week ahead that I won't have time to cook anything!!! I might make a kugel for the family, but probably it will only be me and Noah who eat it! I might make a brisket....who knows!!!

Do you have a slow cooker? I always make mine in the crock pot and it always comes out perfectly! I have a ton of Lipton Onion Soup mix, but I might just go BBQ style this year!! Good luck! I want to hear an update!

Ooooh, kugel.  Hmmm. I may need one now. I don't trust our oven enough for brisket though.
