Need logon help
« on: October 08, 2009, 02:16:00 AM »
It is very hard here to find the help I need.  I  changed my email address in my profile.  It then told me since I had made changes, I would need a new activation email before I could sign back in.  It never came.  I requested it three separate times.  I finally decided to open a new account so that I could at least contact an admin.  You'd think they would be easy to find and to contact.  I have no idea who the admins are.  I looked for Leah but there was no way to send her a message.  Then I remembered that Mindy is a moderator and tried to message her but got an error saying that I don't have access to PM's.  Ok, so I can't message anyone.  I can't receive an email, I can't log on and I have no idea who to contact for help.  What is a person supposed to do when they have a problem?  As a side note, the activation email for this new account came instantly.  can someone help me to sign back in under my original name, lisapower?

Sorry it's giving you trouble.  I clicked the report to mod on your post to see if someone can help you out. I'm sure it'll be sorted in no time. :)

Apologies if this is obvious, but did you check your spam/junk/trash folders for your e-mail? I've often found messages end up there, even after I add the sender to my list of "trusted"/non-junk people.

An admin should be able to mark your e-mail address as verified manually. I'm not sure if mods have the same permissions, though.

Good luck!

Leah is the one who will be able to help you with that.  She'll no doubt see this topic or you could PM her.

Yes, I've checked my spam folder.  Nothing there

\I can't PM anyone.  It says I don't have that access.  That's why I posted here

Is it an AOL email address?  I remember reading somewhere when I first signed up something about not being able to use an AOL email address (don't remember the reason why and I could be wrong about that).  I think I even tried to register with my AOL email and I never got the activation email so I just changed it to the yahoo one.

I was eventually able to pm Leah.  I just need to wait till I hear something now.
It was not an AOL email address.  However, the new account was and I got that email right away.  The email I tried to use is just a variation of the same one I had before.  Instead of lisapower@XXXXXXX, it was changed to lisa.power@XXXXXXX. Same server.  It doesn't make sense to me.   ???  I'd just like to have my original account back.

I'm sure they can straighten it out fairly easily.  *Crosses fingers*

I've activated your account manually and you should be able to log in on that one. I'm sorry it was such a hassle for you.

However, it's good news for us that our emails to aol.com seem to work now.

That is good news!  I was kinda bummed that I couldn't use my aol account since that's my main account.   :(
