Anyone in Uxbridge, Ruislip, Harrow?

Hi!  I just joined today.  I will be moving to the UK at the beginning of September.  My job is in Uxbridge and I hope to find a flat around there, or in Ruislip or Harrow.  Is anyone from this area?  Can you offer any advice?  Can you give me a general feel for property rates, good areas to live in, close to shops, etc.  I have spent very little time in this particular area, so I am a little nervous.  I have looked at endless websites, so some first hand experience would be great.

I'm not too far from those areas, but I've not had to do house hunting, so can't really help you there.  Just wanted to wish you luck in your search.
