Where can I find cheap flights for going home Thanksgiving
« on: October 02, 2009, 11:49:59 AM »
I am going home for thanksgiving just like I did last year.  I found great deals last year aroun 350 pounds roundtrip.  This year I haven't been able to find anything lower than 451.  Anyone going back to usa for thanksgiving having any luck finding cheap flights?
I was thinking last min might be the best idea?

I would check cheapoair.com from time to time.  They usually have some really good deals, you just have to check often.  The tickets prices always change, sometimes get cheaper the closer you to the dates.

We got Heathrow -> JFK for about £260 return over Thanksgiving, it was American Airlines but you had to book them before the end of July. They also had Manchester -> Chicago.

It's worth signing up for the weekly Travelzoo.com email, they send out loads of bargains and I found these, and other flights cheap that way.

We booked through Expedia for £335 for LHR->SFO and then onward to a commuter airport, but just like TykeMan we booked very early March 09.

Netflights is pretty good. I'd have a look there.

I am going nuts myself trying to find flights. So far, I've found that Air Canada has the best prices--with a layover in Toronto. It would save 150 pounds, so I think I have to book it...
