Exhaustion and Dreaming
« on: October 20, 2009, 08:42:29 AM »
The biggest symptom I've had is pregnancy fatigue. I am so tired all the time. It's going away a bit but the last few weeks I've not been sleeping well due to  a whole night of dreaming. I have one dream, wake up, go to sleep and have another dream. Last night I had 4 dreams, all which I remember. I can tell from the dreams are from the anxiety and stress I'm feeling. I tend to feel anxiety about certain aspects of caring for the babies and I stress about work.

Any advice on  how I can have a decent nights sleep? Jon has taken to sleeping on the couch because he knows I sleep better when I have the bed to myself but also because he can't sleep when I'm tossing and turning as badly as I am.

I'm so tiiiiiiired.

Sweetie, it sounds like you need some serious relaxtion time! All that stress is no good for your babies. Can you take a little break from work for a couple of days and maybe get away somewhere? If not, are there any groups in your area that do nice things for mumstobe? Check your local children's centre, I know ours has things like yoga and massage from time to time.

FWIW I was knackered suring my pregnancy too, I used to fall asleep at my desk at work!

I think the thing to remember is that it does, and it will go away. Unfortunately imo you just have to soldier on!!! Can you try putting a pillow under your bump or sleeping in a spare bedroom (or do what I do, send my husband away)

If you can take time off from work, do so! But I promise, it will go away!

I have a big holiday booked in November. I'm going home for Thanksgiving but that's taken all my holiday for the remainder of the year. I'm quite tempted to call in sick and have a day sleeping in.

Can you try putting a pillow under your bump

I haven't actually got a bump yet! God help me when that does show. I'll then be losing the only position I'm truly comfortable sleeping in!

But the groups and activities sound good. There is aqua aerobics at my local leisure centre. I wonder if a bit of light exercise would help put me in a deeper sleep. I'll give it a go. Thanks ladies.

Yeah, I'm at 9 weeks, almost ten, (due date, approximately May 26th!!) and yeah, I'm pretty exhausted already haha. And the morning sickness is going to kill me i think. I swear, I'm so drained and I work 8 hour days 5 days a week so Basically I've been sleeping the moment I get home. And eating, not that it stays down :-X
But maybe just take a day off, do your nails, take a bath and sleep in, that's what I've done all day  ;)
