FOUND: A Christmas Story
« on: November 04, 2009, 07:46:53 PM »
I know lots of people love this film and I also know it is hard to find here, but I saw it tonight at Tesco for 3.00 in the Christmas video section.

Pretty cheap and for all those who are here for your first Christmas, it is not on tv here so if you want it better get it now.  :)

I only have it in Region 1, so I might get it myself for three pounds!

Nice!  I totally must buy this if it's not on TV here-- it's not Christmas if that movie isn't playing nonstop in the background!

It hasn't been any of the 6 years I have been for Christmas and I saw it in the shop on video back in 99, but this is the first year I have seen it since.

With TNT commercials to break it up.

My mom sent it to us a few years ago because I had commented how sad Christmas was without it. Jon doesn't like the film, so I can only put it on once.

What region is it for?  (I'm confused.)  Our DVD only plays PAL format.

I remember looking last year, but all I could find was the US format one.  :(

ETA:  D'oh!  Just searched amazon.co.uk & it's there - not from amazon directly, but from some of their affiliated sellers...see but I worry they are gonna slip a Region 1 (or whatever) in there on me rather than PAL.  :-\\\\

Yes, that's Amazon Marketplace.

What I usually do if I'm not sure about the seller is send them a question to clarify. That way I have it in writing if they do in fact send me the wrong region, the wrong language, the wrong whatever.
