Waiting on the visa, starting to run out of juice

Thanks Sylvia and Rachel. It's after 5 and still nothing. I thought the bday where princess Diana died and everyone forgot about my birthday was bad, but this one takes the cake. I also missed my husband's birthday 3 weeks ago, so we're both just gonna redo the birthdays later.

Sorry to hear you won't be with your husband for your birthday Rachel. It sucks. Hopefully the birthday do-overs will be fun, but honestly, I don't even know if we'll bother. And you never have to apologize about venting your frustration. I think we all understand. In fact it makes me feel a lot less crazy to see other people dealing with a similar situation in a similar way.

I'm sorry you didn't have the best of birthdays, Pegs. I know the feeling. I got a sweet card through the post with a mixed CD to make up for my missed birthday... And it actually did almost feel like enough

It is so depressing to be apart... I can't stand it. There have actually been moments when I've been sitting outside and felt a breeze, then wondered if the same breeze possibly hit my husband 5 hours earlier. Again, disgustingly cheesy (nevermind unlikely, haha) but it still gave me a faint smile. Then I think of my friend who's about to part with her only son as he deploys for the Middle East for a year... and then I feel guilty. Then I think what this relationship would've been like 100 year ago... and then I feel so grateful to be in the time of phone calls, text messages, email.. Video chatting, for pete's sake! We're lucky for that! (what our pets see will remain secret.. thank goodness)

We'll get through this, guys! I'm having a few minutes of optimism here!

Day 34 and counting. Does it really take this long to look at paperwork. I know all about paper pushing, I work for the NHS but this is beyond a joke. I'm swinging between utter dispair and complete anger. I wonder if they realise how painful this is for the applicants

Rebotting, I'm with you completely. It's absolutely crazy that it takes this long, esp when we paid over a thousand bucks. Is that not enough to ensure a decision in a reasonable amount of time? And the fact that they cut out all contact between the applicant and the ECO's makes me sick. I know someone was saying that it was a decision that was supposed to be for our best interest, but it certainly doesn't feel like it. Definitely doesn't feel like it gained the system any efficiency. Everyday I wondered if the people who looked through our applications ever thought about what the applicant was feeling.

I got my visa approval email today (day 44) and I'm so happy, but at the same time I'm still angry that I've just thrown two months of my life down the drain, waiting and feeling miserable. And I'm angry that you are all still waiting and feeling the way that I did yesterday. It has been the worst experience of my life. I just wanted to say thank you all because your support and understanding made everyday a little more bearable. I'll be here rooting for you, and I look forward to hearing about your happy day.

Congratulations Peggles I'm so happy for you. Here's hoping ours isn't too far behind you. I'm still petrified that his visa will be refused but your approval has given me some hope.  Enjoy England, it is a beautiful country.  Just each as much of your favourites as you can because our restaurants don't even compare to yours.  Where are you moving too?

You know, I think the bottom line for my despair and frustration with this horrible process is that I am not in control of my own life. Not only am I not in control, but someone else is. Someone who doesn't know me, know my life, someone who is probably not even paying attention to my name. Just a numbered application sitting somewhere in a pile. And I paid over a grand to get there.

Peggles, please note there actually is a customer service survey on the WorldBridge site that you can take if you've gone through the process. I hope you take it!! I sure will!

Thank you everybody! I got my passport back this morning and booked my flight to Edinburgh leaving Tuesday night! This is going to be the first enjoyable weekend for me in a long time. I feel bad though, cause now that I'm on the other side of this, all I can say to you all is that meaningless rubbish that always made me wanna scream "I'm sure it's coming soon. It'll all be worth it in the end". I'm really sorry that you are all still waiting.

One thing I can say is that waiting longer than others doesn't mean a refusal. I kept thinking that the ONLY way it could be taking so long was because they had to have a second ECO confirm the refusal. On day 43 I was a complete mess. I know there's no way to stop yourself from worrying, but the odds are you will get approved.

"I am very satisfied with the service I received when applying for my UK visa". Strongly disagree doesn't even BEGIN to express how I feel about that statement.
 
"My e-mail enquiry was dealt with professionally and to my complete satisfaction". Is it possible to answer that question when I don't know whether ANY of my emails have even been read?
 
"My email was answered within a satisfactory period of time". Well, I sent two emails to Worldbridge back in April and still haven't gotten a reply. I emailed the LA complaints address in mid August (still no reply) and my husband emailed the LA contact address a few days ago (still no reply) so I would say a big fat NO.
 
I remember you had mentioned this survey earlier, but I had forgotten about it so thank you for reminding me. However, I kind of want to boycott it because it seems like the biggest joke on the planet right now. I'll think about it, I guess it can't hurt to do it.

Haha! Thanks for taking the survey, Peggles! I looked at the survey results from the last report (it's posted on their website) and I actually think not too many people complete it. It's probably the best way to really get the point across, too.

Like you, I will thoroughly enjoy completing it when "my time has come".
