We are just pricing insurance now, which is what is going to be expensive. I will hopefully be driving this baby within a couple of days!
Congratulations!

Do a lot of shopping for the insurance so you don't overpay (Its the Welsh in me)

I am getting a car!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!! I drove it today. It's a 1996 Vauxhall Corsa! It doesn't have power steering so that is a bit odd but other than that it is a decent car. It only has 60,000 miles on it. The girl who is selling it went down her her price and we are getting it for a bargain at 425 pounds!!!!!!! We are just pricing insurance now, which is what is going to be expensive. I will hopefully be driving this baby within a couple of days!

Excellent!!
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

We did. The best we can find is about 600 pounds for a year. We shall see once we actually make phone calls rather than quoting on the internet.
Follow your bliss.

Phone an insurance broker and see if he/she can come up with a better deal for you. You won't be charged for the services.

It's definitely worth checking out as many different quotes as you can - for our cars in the past, we've been quoted anywhere from £500 to £2,000 a year for the same car with the same people insured on it! Costs can also vary depending on who the car owner/main insurance holder is - for one of our cars, we got a quote of double the original amount if my brother was the main driver instead of my mum (because my brother was a teenager who had only been driving for a year and was high-risk, but my mum had several years of  no-claims and was a low-risk driver)!
