Ancestory Question?
« on: December 23, 2009, 03:47:32 PM »
My father informed my that my great-grandfather was from the UK and there is a street in London named after us Cullum Street, which a friend sent me a picture of YEARS ago and never connected the two.

Anyone know where I can find information on this?

Quote from: Institute of Chartered Accountants
Cullum Street is built on the site of the house of Sir Thomas Cullum, a 17th century London merchant whose accounts are discussed in Alan Simpson, The Wealth of the Gentry 1540-1660 (1961), ch.3.

If Sir Thomas was big around 1600, he's more than likely not your great-grandfather, but perhaps a bit further back.  I'd see if I could find a copy of the Simpson book for more info.  It'd be cool if it turns out you're related to the guy the street's named for.  :)
