Kielbasa
« on: December 23, 2009, 08:57:41 PM »
Has anyone seen kielbasa/Polish sausage anywhere?  It's the u-shaped Hillshire Farm smoked one I'm really looking for, but anything along those lines would do.

Not sure if this is very common in your area, but in Scotland, there seem to be a lot of shops in the cities that carry Polish groceries, including kielbasa.  It's probably not exactly like the American stuff, but it looked really good.  And it's likely to be all meat, rather than have a lot of filler.  (Seriously.  Why would anyone buy sausage that's only ~80% meat?  Drives me crazy! :) )

I think the Polish stuff they have at my Tesco is pretty good.

We have a few polish grocers in our area that sell them.

We must have a Polish grocer somewhere in the neighbourhood, but I don't know where.  I will definitely look in Lidl.  Thanks for the suggestions!

You can also look up delicatessen deli/butchers in your area, we have a lovely one in our town that does so many types of smoked sausages

The Lidl ones are VERY tasty.   :D

I use them all the time in Cajun dishes.
