Fedexed Spousal Visa Today!
« on: January 13, 2010, 11:59:17 PM »
Just wanted to let everyone know I fedexed the documents that I was waiting on so now tomorrow Expert Visa will get it all and submit it. I hope to know tomorrow. But when I talked with someone today they said it would be Friday or Tuesday. Is that normal? I have seen some of you all find out the same day. Do they call or email you to let you know? Who will let me know the results? I do not care for this waiting game.

The amount of time taken for the visa to be processed will depend on each individual application. Some are processed within a few hours of arriving at the consulate, some take around 2 business days, and if the consulate is busy with applications, some take up to a week. If the application is not straight-forward (i.e. the applicant has a criminal record or previous visa refusals/refused entry to the UK etc.), then even using an expediter, it could still take a few weeks for processing.

All communication should go through the visa expediter, so they will be the ones to let you know if and when the visa has been approved. However, I believe some people also receive an email from the consulate even if they use an expediter.

Good Luck!

As for the expediter submitting to the Consulate today, they may not receive the documents until later in the day and I'm fairly certain that they have a time window at the Consulate as to when they can drop off & pick up, so it just depends. Monday is Martin Luther King Jr Day so the Consulate is closed, which is why they wouldn't be able to drop off until Tuesday.

No need to worry...Again, Good Luck!

If you sent the documents to arrive tomorrow (which now is today Thursday), they will not be submitted to the consulate tomorrow (today).   More than likely, your courier will want to look them over first and Weby is right - the consulate only accepts applications first thing in the morning.  The likely senario is that your documents will be delivered to the consulate Friday and you will hear either Friday evening if you're lucky or Tuesday morning more realistically.

The communcation will be directly through the courier.
