Doherty fined £750 for bringing heroin into Court

I really don't understand why the Courts don't make an example out of this man and throw his junkie ass into jail. I totally understand that we don't want the jails overrun with drug addicts but this guy has got away with so much in the past and doesn't seem to feel any remorse for his actions.

Bringing 13 wraps into Court, whether he did it "accidentally" or not should definately have been fined more than a measley £750. I find it appalling.

I just keep thinking that if some Joe Schmoe brought his drugs into Court, he'd not be let go with a silly fine and a slap on the hand, he'd have the full brunt of the law on his head.
There are two things in life for which we are never truly prepared:  twins.

I kind of think the system is failing him because he's a celebrity. He comes to court with drugs in his pocket and is let off on a fine. Apparently he's 'paying' for his own drug rehab, so the taxpayer doesn't have to. Taxpayers pay for a lot of crap they don't want to, perhaps getting this guy off drugs wouldn't be such a bad thing to foot the bill for. Right now the taxpayers are paying for all of his court visits and the salaries for the police that keep arresting him when they could be catching real criminals.

Sooner or later he'll die of a drug overdose and no one will be surprised. I think that's pretty sad.

Oh, that wacky Pete. ::)

Seriously, though, it makes me sad for celebrities like him.  It's probably harder for them to really get help because they've got enough money to sort of skirt around the whole thing with fancy clinics and outpatient treatment that less privileged people would never get.

Yep.
