Week 5
« on: August 12, 2004, 12:16:50 PM »
Just a note to say hello to all the oldies but goodies of the board and a welcome to all the newbies :).........Left Boston on the 5th of July and after a 5 hour delay at the airport finally landed at Heathrow feeling a lot like Bennie in Search of a Home. The container holding all of our worldly possessions left a week before us and finally found its way to Felixstowe via Antwerp (go figure) this past Friday. Moving house is so non-stressful :P.......bought a 9 year old Rover, found a brand new house in Northants to rent for 6 months and in a month or two we'll head out to try and find a mortgage. Not even going to bother unpacking everything because I'm sure these 6 months'll fly but the place will do until after the holidays. Have'nt bothered breaking out the lap-top yet so for now a trip into town and a £3 an hour cyber-cafe lets me check my e-mail, etc.......I do love this country though.........and the Guinness is good too 8).........Hope everyone's keeping well and enjoying their summer.

Welcome back! I've been wondering how the move went, and I'm glad to see that it has been good, despite the obligatory stresses! WELCOME HOME! :) :)
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!

Ooh.. so things are going well then?   Haven't even unpacked the laptop?? I think that'd be the FIRST thing out of the bag for me.  How do you do it?  I could live in the Sudan as long as I had an internet connection  ;D  Anyway, welcome back.

Welcome!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Welcome back to the UK Celtic.  I've been wondering where you'd gotten to lately.  Now I know.  I haven't been on here much lately either.  But am glad you found your way here and all is well.  Good luck mortgage hunting.  My fingers are crossed it goes smoothly and swiftly too.

Hi Celtic and welcome to the shores of the UK... not that I was here so much earlier mind you! ;D
