Unrepatriation??
« on: February 09, 2010, 08:44:20 PM »
I don't know the word.

Basically, my British husband moved to the US back in October with our British son.  We thought it would be affordable and I could be with my family.

However, we found that we HATE it.  Everything we went through to get here, just doesn't seem worth it.

Is it possible to move back to the UK?  I know my husband and son can, so does that give me some sort of pardon for breaking the whole I'll stay in the UK forever agreement?

What was your immigration status when you left and how long have you been gone for?  Did you move over with your husband or did you return before?

What visa did you have when you left?

What visa did you hold when you left the UK?

If you held ILR and you have been absent from the UK for less than 2 years you can just pick up and come back like you never left.

If you had a spousal visa or an FLR(M) and your visa has not expired you can just pack up and come back like you never left...

If you had a spousal visa or an FLR(M) that has expired you will have to apply for a new visa before you attmept to re-enter the UK..

Don't worry...You can always come home again  :)

Lots of us are unrepatriating at the moment, I'm due to move back in about 18 days if the paperwork goes through. We mainly post over in repatriation about it, so I'll move this over there. :) Don't worry you're in good company!
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!
