Extension Cables?

I've been searching online to try and buy some extension cables for my house.  My TV cable is about 5 feet too short to reach the wall, and I'd rather not have a surge protector hanging in the middle of my wall.  What on earth do they call extension cords here?  I've tried "extension cables" "extension wire" "electrical cord / wire/ plug."  Any thoughts?  I'm so confused
