Spousal visa ends in Oct., not renewing and not staying?!
« on: February 08, 2010, 11:28:29 AM »
My spousal visa expires in October. Originally my husband and I had planned for me to take the Life in the UK test, apply for ILR and generally settle here. But plans (jobs) changed and we're going to move back to the States later this year before my visa expires.

What happens when we come back to visit his family? Will I still be allowed in the country as long as I have a return flight booked? I'm foreseeing this as a lot of hassle at passport control and I'm just wondering if anyone's dealt with a similar situation.

I never had any hassle at the POE after my FLE expired in 2008. It also didn't cause any problems with receiving a second FLE in December of last year. I worried too, but it was really a non-issue.

Thanks! That's very reassuring.
