In the past i have seen them at ASDA, but i dont remember where.

Where i got mine was Holland and Barrett, i only paid their prices because it was half price plus buy one get one. I think they were just trying to clear some of it out. I dunno.

Basically, look everywhere except the snack food section! You know, the place where it would make the most sense!  :P  ;D

Except if they put it in the snack foods there'd always be some idiots who bought it and tried to eat it as it was!  ;D

It's at Sainsburys in the same aisle that the capers are in.  It's also at Marks in the baking section.
I found this recipe 1/3 cup sugar,1/2 vegetable oil, and a 1/2 cup of pop corn makes good kettle corn.

I'm so popping corn tonight!  Thanks for the craving.  It's funny, I remember looking all over and not finding it when I wanted a bag, then after I finally found some, I saw it everywhere.  I think I was just looking in the wrong places initially.

I'll be popping corn tonight, too!  ;D I decided to order my groceries online so it was easier to find it.  :P So, since I have never actually done this before, does anyone have any tips? I assume you just heat some oil in a pan, add the kernels and swish them around, then just put the lid on and wait for the magic to happen.  :) But if you have any tips or seasoning suggestions, let me know!

^^ That's what I do, although I keep the pan moving the whole time, so nothing sticks or burns -- but that's just a throwback to the old jiffy pop days, so I'm not sure it's necessary.

I've always wondered that same thing.  I keep mine moving like jiffy pop told me to as well.  The first couple times I did it in my frying pan, but now I just do it in a saucepan--more popping room. You don't need very much oil at all.

yes you want to keep the kernals moving for even heat distribution and to prevent the popped popcorn from burning.  Also, allow air to get at the popcorn or else you'll end up with soggy popcorn.

My method (or rather my son's perfected method) is about 1 Tbsp of olive oil, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 cup of popcorn kernals in a COLD pot.  Prepare about a Tbsp of butter to put in the pot for later.  Get the popcorn well coated and then turn on the heat fairly high.  Keep the kernals moving until the popcorn starts popping and then add the butter.  Keep kernals moving until popping slows right down.  Remove from heat and serve.

You can also add maple syrup or sugar with the oil if you like the salty/sweet kettle corn.

We get our popcorn at Sainsbury's in the beans section.  It's about the only thing that keeps getting cheaper these days!
