After five years in London I want to apply for a green card for my husband, who is Russian and with whom I live in London. I just need to figure out whether to do DCF or in America. We have three months left on our current visa to England (a work permit). I am the dependent. He is going to apply for, and likely get, the tier 1 skilled workers visa, but he does not have a job lined up past June. I want to move back to the USA and am feeling generally anxious about all this- I can deal with being in London for a while longer but if he applies for the visa and doesn't get a job to support us (I am an English teacher but am definitely not the breadwinner around here) we are totally screwed after springing a thousand pounds for the visas and being stuck in an expensive flat. I want to go back to the US because I really miss it and we would have an actual support system there if someone is unemployed. DH does not really agree and prefers to wait to go to the US in some unspecified point in the future, perhaps after a few years of working in a bank in London. If I finally do DCF in London how long would it take and are we even able to do it at this point? If I am in the US- if I just say to hell with it, I'm going back, getting a job and getting set up so we are not stuck in England forever- can I apply for my husband if he is still in London?
