I'm okay with the beef (though I do get a hankering for a nice American steak at times), but the chicken drives me potty.  I'll only eat chicken breasts and I'm horrified each time I open a package -- bloody bits!  I don't ever remember buying boneless, skinless, chicken breasts with bloody bits in the US.  :o


oh god - and when you buy a whole chicken, I love how there are still feathers attached here and there!  *horror*

My first Xmas here I cooked a turkey, but before I could start, I had to finish plucking the darn thing because it still had flippin' feathers.   ::)

I haven't noticed that much difference in the beef but then we raised our own beef at home and didn't buy it from the store.
My husband tells me that there are feathers on the poultry because here they don't have a large supply of cheap illegal immigrant labour to pluck off the feathers that are missed out by the machine. ;)
