Driving lessons in your own car?
« on: April 09, 2010, 10:18:12 PM »
I want to take my drivers test in my vehicle because it is an automatic.  Does anyone know if there are any driving schools that will teach you in your own car?

I use Storm Driving school and my instructor will teach me in my own car.  Most others I spoke to would as well.

And you can most certainly take your test in your own car.

If I recall correctly, though, when you take the test in your own car, you have to get an extra rear-view mirror, so that the examiner can adjust it for his/her use.  Also, ofc, you have to make sure that everything in the car is in 100% proper working order.

and also, in case you arent aware, if you take your test in an automatic, you will only be license to drive an automatic car. You will not be allowed to drive a manual

I took lessons and my test in my own car. My husband was my driving instructor as well and I passed first time  :). You do need an extra rear view mirror but they're only about £5 at halfords and to take the test in your own car, you just need to make sure your insurance, tax, MOT is all up to date.
