What is the average for people getting their approvals when they post their application and proof off to NY? Trying to get a feel for when I'll have all the money together for the fee and how soon to me wanting to leave it will be till I have the visa in my hands. (Assuming I do get it  ;) ) Cheers!!

For me it was a fiance' visa to NY....and it took 2.5 weeks that is including a problem I had that they hadnt received my daughter's fast track application and they wanted a phone interview...Not a bad turn around time I would say!

Do the spousal visa's usually run quicker or slower?

Someone who went through it a couple of years ago told me to expect to wait at least four weeks for a response....will it really take that long?!

Never heard of it taking 4 weeks! Usually 2 max. Maybe your friend was talking about applying for a spousal visa in the UK (converting from a fiancée visa). It could take longer than 2 weeks in the UK if you don't go in person.

Well that is certaintly good news  ;D - I would like to think that I'll get an approval rather quickly but I don't want to be modest or bigheaded about it. Just trying to take it all one step at a time and get everything together.

I think the biggest thing that I'm tripping up on now is wondering how much their going to scrutinize on finances and what about it that they are exactly looking at.  ??? Because my husbands last six months worth of bank statements show a lot of money coming in but going out as quickly as it comes in as we were paying for the wedding at that point in time.  :-\\\\

Any body got any suggestions on that or know anything? I suffer from stress related stomach ulcer's so needless to say, these times of high stress keep me in and out of hospital and taking my pills left and right. So any help and/or advice is greatly appreciated!!

Cheers again all!!

Well I have decided to post off my application today (12/8/2004) to the consulate in NY.

I've gotten all of my information together and my husband's paperwork should arrive to me early afternoon today. I'm very nervous about it all but he's been telling me not to worry about it. I've answered everything on there to the best of my knowledge, as I've said though, the whole lack of a savings account is what worries me the most. I pray that I receive it back and have an approval in it.

I'll keep you lot updated on when my interview is and what the outcome is. Just wanted to thank everyone for all the great advice that I have been given as well as the support and encouragement. I hope it all pays off!! Cheers!!!

They really aren't looking for a shedfull of money...they just want to know that your husband can support you (put a roof over your head and feed you) until you start working.  Be optimistic!

Good luck  (keep us updated!)   ;D

That's very encouraging right there....for me, too, I've been concerned about the whole financial thing, too!
