I just discovered this sight last night and I am so happy to meet all of you!!! I met my husband on the internet 4 years ago and he moved from Belfast to the states to marry me. He has been here 3 years now and he really dislikes it. People have a hard time understanding his thick Nortern Ireland accent since it's nothing like they've ever heard on the Lucky Charms comericials!

He doesn't like the food, he misses his footie matches and the pups etc, ect. He also really misses his family a lot. We have been considering moving back for some time but only recently when the PETS process was introduced did I start becoming enthusiastic about it. We have 4 small dogs that we will be bringing plus my parrot. It looks like the parrot will still have to go through quarintine but apparently I can do that in our own home as long as I don't come into contact with other domestic birds?!? I've been researching it and it's really hard to find out any solid facts. Things seem to change from day to day. If anyone knows anything about transporting exotic pets I'd sure love to hear from you! I am a dog groomer with my own business here in the US. The idea of picking up and starting over in a new country is very daunting. I have all kinds of equipment for my business that I'd like to bring but it's all American voltage. To sell out and get new stuff would be taking a serious cut since a lot of my stuff I got used and though it works well I wouldn't be able to get much for it.

Sorry I'm rambling here... I really just wanted to say hello and I'm so glad to have found this message board!!! We are looking at moving late spring or early summer 2005. Have to get started with the PETS thing first. I know that take about 7 months. Personally I'm glad because that should be enough time to get everything else sorted out.
Again it's wonderful to meet all of you.
Sorry my spelling is so bad, my spell checker is down for some reason!
Thanks!
