booster vs vaccination
« on: April 02, 2010, 06:35:26 AM »
oops! think i really messed up...I just realized that my dog had his rabies vaccination when he was pup, then was microchipped, and then had a rabies booster at 1 year. I just spent over $100 dollars today on his blood test...and it just occurred to me that perhaps i needed to have him re-vaccinated?!  :o
For some reason I was under the impression that the booster was the vaccination...i had completely forgot that he had his shots or rather a  vaccination when I first got him!
does anyone know if a booster is considered a vaccination?!
If not...I'm going to have to start over!  :-[

A "booster" is a vaccination. I think as long as your vet can document that he had his microchip first, then got a rabies vaccine, and then had blood drawn you will be fine. :-)

thanks...I guess I was just freaking out for no reason. You're right, I called my vet this morning and he confirmed. Think I have it all in order now. Still I hope that the officials at the pet entry are nicer than people immigration officials...if we ever get there!  ;D
