Is the "Visa" paranoia normal?

I just applied for my Marriage Visitor Visa last Friday and the application and documents/ Biometrics should arrive to the British Consulate on Tuesday. I was so positive and hopeful about the whole thing until I started reading "too much" on the site about refused visas (by choice...I know, shame on me)....and of course, I started focusing on everything little thing that can go wrong and went paranoid.  Is going on Paranoid mode normal at this stage?

It is frustrating to think that your future plans with the one you love are in the hands of someone else. I really, really, really hope I get it.

I should just go with the flow and follow the saying: "whatever happens, happens" as at this point it is out my control. <sigh> I just wish this over analyzing will go away...Need to delete my brain cookies!

Seriously, I had all my ducks in a row and I was so worried that I wasn't going to get my PSW, and it only got worse as I read other people's experiences on another board. I would recommend not going any other forum for advice or info, because there is some crazy stuff out there that will only serve to make you more paranoid!

I know this is easy to say now, but try to relax and forget about it. There is nothing you can do when it's out of your hands, so try not to worry about it too much!

The worry is completely normal.      I was a nervous wreck before and "that was so much easier than I expected!" after.

I haven't applied yet.  I don't even know when we'll apply.  Yet I already, occasionally, work myself up into near panic-attack levels of paranoia.  I become absolutely convinced that they'll never let me in, and my boyfriend and I will never get to be together, and on and on and on....Eventually I have to mentally slap myself, and get over it.   

So, no...you're not the only one who feels paranoid.

Not really, but yeah seriously, we've all been there and we've all had our freak outs about whether or not a visa would be granted. 

And those of us with citizenship now either have a nervous tick or gibber when in stressful situations.   

I only stopped panicking and going into dazes when my FLR visa came in the post. I had to sign off on it, and I started jumping up and down and laughing and all sorts. The delivery man laughed at me, as did DH and MIL. For the longest time, I was paranoid that some one would "send me back" for the slightest thing.  You'll be fine.

Maybe I wasn't that concerned about my spousal visa 2 years ago because I only had the information from the UKBA website & application site and so that's what I did, I gathered what they asked for and sent it off and a shiny visa showed up about 2 days later. I didn't find UKY until after I had returned to the UK on my visa.

This time with my ILR I'm still not that concerned because I know I meet the requirements so it's just a matter of them processing it...but that doesn't stop me from looking at the calendar every day (sometimes multiple times) and counting how many days have passed (see ticker below  ) and wondering when it will show up. But as far as worrying if I won't qualify, no...so I guess that I've managed to avoid the visa 'paranoia'...though it's probably the only thing in my life I don't worry about.

I think I am weird because I don't remember especially worrying about any of my visas or citizenship.  I think those who worry are the normal ones though.  To me, it was just - ok, fill out these forms, gather up a boatload of paperwork, and pay a big wad of money, Bob's your uncle.

I joined UKY for the social aspects of the site.  

I didn't know about UKY when I was applying for my fiancee visa back in the US.  After the wedding, I was too dazed to be much worried about the FLR.  We did my ILR in person so I was there to see them go over it all & give me the vignette (good thing too, because their first attempt, they got my surname wrong).  And then coasted on into citizenship. 

It'll go away... when you receive your visa!   

....and then it starts up all over again for the next one.     That's how I was anyway.  A wreck.  For the fiancee visa I even started losing hair over it.  Then with each following visa (FLR then ILR) it got progressively a bit less.  But with ILR I had the additional worry of the Life in the UK test which I *really* worried about.  But it only made me study more, so in the end it had a positive effect, I guess.  I don't think I'll worry much about citizenship.

I was an absolute mess even though everything was in order and we had a very straightforward case. I dread getting my FLR(M) in September!!!!!

I am glad I am "normal" ..but wishing I was part of the "weird" crowd in times like this   

Every time I get stressed out about something, I start baking like crazy, so we will see how many cookies I'll end up with tonight.
