I think it is going out the back then in the front if it is someone who is in the house at the time who has to be the first footer (if no visitors are expected). It would be crossing the threshold the wrong way if he went out the front then back in again, and that couldn't be good!

I am the same on decorations...they will come down on Tuesday, not a day before or a day later.

Tried to get DS to go out at midnight on New Year's and come back in as First Footer -- but he refused!  But doesn't it have to be a tall dark stranger?  With the coal!  Ye gods, how do these things get started?

I have only started studying for the life in the UK test  (damn computer crashes part way through it lately!) and holy crap.  It feels a bit overwhelming to have to know some of these silly questions!  (or is it just me??)

It also makes me wonder what all we test people on at home

"What is a corn dog?"

Most of the US test is based on the Constitution.  For the most part they are questions that a kid who was taking a government class could answer, but most adults have forgotten.  :)

Unlike the UK test questions, many of which will change, such as the percentage of population.

Looking through the 100 questions, I think I could pretty much answer all of them now.
Glad to know that degree in US history went to such good use!

These are the "new" questions, some of the answers are wrong of course, but I can answer most of those as well.  They are more difficult than the others.
