electric toothbrush and camera battery recharger
« on: April 03, 2010, 09:35:41 PM »
I know these are trivial questions, but hoping someone might now.  The only two electronic things I am thinking of moving with me(besides my laptop which is already sorted out) are my electric toothbrush and camera battery recharger.  Wondering if I can buy a charger there for my Sony camera battery that will be compatible.  Also checking to see if anyone knows if my electric toothbrush will be ok with an adapter since it is such a low voltage item.  Any thoughts?

Hassina,
I have both here and I just use an adapter to charge them with no problem.
I have an Oral B toothbrush and the charge here lasts longer and my camera has no problem to charge the battery.

I would check the battery to see if it can handle 220v but mine could no problem.

Good luck

Thanks I know they are silly questions, but certainly helpful!

Check the voltage on both of them.  My camera battery charger is fine, but my husband killed my electric toothbrush (a very old SoniCare) by not using a transformer with it.  Now I have a new shiny one he had to buy to replace it though, so I guess it wasn't all bad :)

I'm not trying to sound silly, but do you know how to check the voltage?  A lot of my American friends don't.  It's super easy and can tell you if you need the voltage adapter or if you can just plug it into a plug adapter.  My camera battery charger is dual voltage.

If you look at the written information on the charger it will say the voltage.  I think American voltage is 100, but if it says something like 100/240v then it's dual voltage and can be used in either country without a voltage adapter.  You just need the smaller plug adapter.
