sweetpeach, I have ILR, have lived in the UK for nearly six years and have always paid UK taxes on my (full-time) pay here. I assume that I am domiciled, but in any case, I pay UK tax on all my income. I am talking about the possibility of leaving the UK as a dual citizen (US and UK) and earning no money here. Sorry, but I still don't see how what you're saying applies to me. I also don't know what you mean by 'income you bring into the UK'.

Say you live in the UK but have a bank account in the US. The bank account earns interest. You wire some of the money in your US bank account into your UK bank account so that you can spend it in the UK.

The portion of the money that you wired over that is interest income is income that you brought into the UK.

It doesn't apply to you if you leave the UK. It only applies if you are resident in the UK, but domiciled outside the UK. Since you are planning to leave the UK, then it doesn't matter.
