Harrods has been sold.

AFY sold the store to another Arab investor.

What was interesting to me is that Volkswagen is owned by the same Arabs.

I don't blame them for diversifying because I think the days of demand for oil are just about over.

Does that mean Al Fayed is finally going to leave the country and stop bleating on about conspiracy theories?

He's supposedly staying on and working behind the scenes at Harrod's, at least for a while.

Hi there,

this did make me chuckle!

Demand for oil is actually increasing! the BRIC nations are wanting more and more of it, I guess in the current economic slowdown the actual number of barrels might be lower, but in the long term and politically and economic growth of the nations, the demand for oil is going up and up!

I agree Dennis but I do see a change coming with the mass introduction of the electric car. Maybe my comments are conflicting because of the time frame.

If the US opens up the off shore drilling plus other projects we could see a large increase in oil production. (yes I do read the news ;D)

Production isn't really the issue though, it's refining capacity.
