Awaiting Parcel from Home For Over 2 Weeks
« on: May 20, 2010, 12:25:18 PM »
My mom and sister sent me some things USPS International Priority.  They have been asking me for over a week now if I have gotten it.  They said it would take only 6-8 business days and told me that they shipped it right after I left 3 1/2 weeks ago.  Should I check with the post office?  Would they deliver it even if it doesn't have "C/O host's name" on it?  DH is getting mail here so I would assume they would deliver it.

Thats how I shipped all of my things when I moved and my mom has since sent me a couple of packages that way and it only took 7-10 days. They should deliver it regardless of the name. Mine were sent to me at my new address and there were no problems. What were the contents? It could be held up in customs if it was something a little off the wall.

International Priority should be trackable.  Have you tried tracking it?

You might also want to check with parcel force worldwide.   If your package went through customs and they decided you owe tax on it then they will hold it until you pay the tax and processing fees.   Packages that go to parcel force do take longer and will be sent back if not claimed.  Normally you would get a letter at the mailing address saying your package is there - but it is only one letter and it could have looked like junk mail.

Yeah, check on it. I had a parcel sent back to the US because we never got the notices it had arrived. Grrrrr.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Also keep in mind the ash cloud nuisance.  It has been affecting a lot of international deliveries.

check the tracking.  On the tracking it should also give you numbers to contact.
