Topic: How to make my new mac play region 1&2 w/o locking the region on the 5th time  (Read 1029 times)

Is there any tricks that i can do that my mac won't lock on a region after 5 times?

If you google, there are programs you can use to reset the counter (so that you never hit the 5x limit). You'll still need to change the region when you want to switch, though, I don't think there are any (free) programs that will just play any region.

I use VLC player to play all of our DVDs on the computers (we have a variety of US/UK computers and US/UK DVDs).  It will play anything. It's a free download, so it might be worth a try.

This. And go into your System Preferences to set it as the default software when you insert a DVD.

I've run into DVDs that VLC won't play, but that just may be bad luck.

I've run into DVDs that VLC won't play, but that just may be bad luck.
I've had that trouble with Disney DVDs sometimes (what? I like "Beauty and the Beast!" :) ).  I think it was actually my computer, though (or maybe they updated VLC), as now that I have a newer computer, I have no trouble playing those DVDs.
