Can't help but tease DH a little bit as US are top of the group and England come in eating our dust.   ;D

Glad they both won so now I have double the chances of a team I'm supporting winning.

Could you believe that snotty Brit commentator saying the man who was with Clinton was trying to explain the off side rule to him?!?   Grrrr.

So England "beat" Slovenia, and the US "edge out" Algeria, but the scores are exactly the same!   ;D

No judgement...really, I am sure the US press are happily biased in favour of the US team!  But it amuses me all the same.

Well, they do tend not to use the same verb in a sentence so will often write like that, but I know what you mean.

The English media, and particularly the commentators/pundits, are why I can't stand England teams. Very disappointed that Slovenia couldn't pull it off.  >:(

Landon said, "Hi Bianca" (his ex-wife) when he was interviewed right after the goal....

So I am thinking he still loves her. Which is sorta sweet...

Even funnier, the *actual* score of the US-Algeria game should have been 2-0!

I watch the games on mute because I can't stand to listen to the commentators here.

He's said many times (after the divorce) that he "owes" his entire career and success to her.  And lots of other things about how she made him into the person he is today and he is so much better because of her, etc.

I thought that was really sweet!  I don't know anything about their relationship or why they separated so I have no idea how they feel about each other now, but it was sweet.  My sister was going mental over that remark as she thought she still had a chance, ha.

Always amazes me when people say that, when a goal disallowed before any scored, as the entire game afterwards pans out differently, USA probably wouldn't have pressured as much deep into injury time if they were already winning.
