Confused on car rental
« on: July 17, 2010, 07:00:33 PM »
So my husband (UKC no driver's license) and I (USC with a US driver's license still valid, I don't drive in the UK and have been here since November 16th 2009) are going to California for a friends wedding and want to rent a car. Now the credit card is in his name but I will be the driver. Will this be okay or will I have to get a credit card in my name to do this? And will there be any ramifications insurance wise? We have travel insurance from AA if that helps at all. We currently live in the UK and will probably rent through Avis as DH work company has a 35% discount through them. Any help would be appreciated.

It doesn't matter who pays, as long as the driver has a license and is over 23 (? I think).  You'll have the option to insure with the rental agency for an additional few dollars a day.
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…
