Runkeeper is an app for the iPhone and Android phones that uses the built-in GPS to tell you how far and fast you're going during a run/walk/cycle ride/whatever and keeps a little map for you and syncs up to Runkeeper.com to show your progress and optionally to Tweet and post to Facebook when you've completed an activity. There's a
free version and a
paid version (£5.99).
There's a bunch of other apps that do roughly the same thing, but I've been using this one for about 9-10 months now and I really like it. They've got a small development team and they're pushing updates and improvements all the time, too. I used to use Nike+ but I think this is actually more accurate and you don't have to worry about the batteries dying like you do on the Nike+ foot thing (I had to buy about four of those, as you can't change the battery once they die!).
Right, with that out of the way, is anyone else using this app who is in need of a Street Team? I've got a few people on mine but it's much more fun and motivating when you see what other people are doing, and you know people are watching you so you'd better get out there!
I'm squirrellypoo on there, too. Anyone else? Post your username in this thread!
