TV Show Looking for Expat Home Buyers/Owners
« on: June 14, 2010, 06:05:21 PM »
Hi,

I'm a casting assistant on an American travel/real estate TV show (somewhat like "A Place in the Sun").  We're currently looking for American expats who have recently bought a home in the UK (anywhere except London) to feature on our show.

Our hit show is looking for energetic individuals, couples and families to share their story about moving abroad. Participating in our show is a lot of fun and a great way to document your exciting search for a home and new life abroad.  In addition, you will receive compensation for your time and efforts.  Contributors should be fluent in English and between the ages of 25-50 with fun, enthusiastic personalities.

If you are interested in participating with our show or learning more, please send an email to househunterscasting@leopardfilms.com.

How about a couple from the US buying a home in Hampshire. Their budget is $400,000.

(I wish)

Househunters International with Suzanne Whang...I used to love this program!  I hope someone here will volunteer.  Don't worry, they won't make any jokes at your expense, it's a really positive program and they'll make you look good.  Interesting that they're looking for someone who already bought a house, I thought the usual storyline was the search for a suitable home.

That is what they make it look like, but the people on there have all already bought a house. I know a couple who did it outside of Oxford, and one in my neighborhood in Atlanta.

Is that the one of a young American couple who took a job as a racing car designer in the UK.

Yes - they had been living in the UK for a few years when they did the show, even though the show made it seem like they were just moving over.

I used to LOVE that show when I was in the States. I loved trying to figure out which house the couples would get. I wish DH and I had enough money to even venture getting our own house, other wise I'd sign us up!

That would be really cool if someone on here got to be on that show.  We watch it all the time.
Keep us all posted if anyone you know gets on.

:) The people did look a bit "stage managed" sometimes. Even on the home seeker shows here, they kinda look a bit staged.

I love this show!  In fact, most of my US family does.
