Hello from Arizona
« on: September 21, 2010, 09:18:07 PM »
I have been a UKY member for a little while but never introduced myself. I though it was time to do it.

I was born in the US but grew up in Quito-Ecuador. I came back to the US with my son about 10 years ago and have been here since.

I met my English husband 2 years ago while traveling in Ireland. We just got married in July and my son and I will be joining him in December if our visas get approved.

My son is 14 and he is an amazing kid. At the beginning, he was not fond of the idea of moving but with time and communication he is now excited about the move. He is into heavy metal and says he is happy he is going to be closer to Norway where his favorite heavy metal singer lives :)

Just wanted to say "hi" to everybody. This site is an amazing source of information and full of nice and knowledgeable people and I am glad to have found it.

Thank you!

I am very excited to finally start a "normal" life together.

Welcome, please bring some of the AZ sun with you.
I would love to bring the sunshine with me. I think I am going to have a hard time getting used to weather. No more tank tops, shorts and flip flops year round.

Hello and Welcome!
Yes the sun would be nice!  My brother spent two years in Arizona and he loved it, though it snowed 6 feet during the winter and he wasn't quite prepared for that!
Hope everything goes well with your plans!
Cheers
We stole countries with the cunning use of flags. Just sail around the world and stick a flag in. "I claim India for Britain!" They're going "You can't claim us, we live here! Five hundred million of us!" "Do you have a flag …? "What? We don't need a flag, this is our home, you bastards" "No flag, No Country, You can't have one! Those are the rules... that I just made up!...and I'm backing it up with this gun, that was lent to me from the National Rifle Association."

Yeah you're in for a shocking change in weather  :)

I lived in the valley for about 6 years, Christmas never felt right in shorts.
