M10 forms, anything needed besides birth certificate?

My fiancee and I are getting ready to send our M10 forms to the registrar, before our wedding on April 26. I have my birth certificate, which they ask for, but I haven't been able to find out if they need anything else from me, since I'm a U.S. Citizen. Will the registrar need to see my fiancee visa? And if so, is it likely that I could just bring it on the day of, since making the 3-hour trip to Gretna Green where we're getting married just isn't possible before my wedding day. I just want to make sure that all the legalities are in order beforehand, and not get any unfortunate surprises on the day of the wedding that something's amiss.

I believe that you will need to show your visa, since they will need proof that you have permission to marry in the UK.

I just found a PDF file regarding the extra documentation needed (on top of the documents required for the M10 form) when giving notice to marry in Scotland. It specifically mentions needing to have either a fiance/marriage visitor visa, a Certificate of Approval or ILR (depending on your circumstances, obviously). I wonder then what I can do to show them I have a visa. I can't really post my passport along with the forms, as I wouldn't want it lost or anything. And making an extra trip to Scotland before the wedding just isn't feasible.
