a GREAT recipe to share!
when I last saw my boyfriend in the UK I shared this recipe with his mum
and I made it for them
and it knocked over the treacle pudding for #1 in his house!
first
peel off the labels of TWO cans of sweetened condensed milk
DO NOT PUNCTURE OR OPEN!!!
instead, submerse them in water in a big pot on the stovetop and boil both cans for a total of 3 1/2 - 4 hrs. Made sure to kee adding water to the pot to keep it boiling and the cans submersed as the water steams off!
after that amount of time, CAREFULLY remove BOTH cans with TONGS and let cool for 15 mins.
for the crust, use a sleeve of graham crackers, finely crushed!
no graham crackers? use Digestives! a whole sleeve!
crumble them into dust
add a stick of butter and a cup and a half of sugar
mold it into a 9" round pan
time to open the cans!
pick up each can with a towel
keep the side you choose to cut OPEN faced DOWN into the pie crust
it will be HOT and if it shoots out it may burn you!
slowly and carefully open each can and empty contents into the crust!
you will find the swweetened condensed milk has turned into pure CARAMEL!!
spread the contents of BOTH cans around until even in the pie shell
freeze overnight and serve with fresh quirty whipped cream!

its a dessert sure to win EVERYONE over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
