Another new Mexican place in London!!

Saw this place called Tacqueria Lupita in Villiers St (near Charing Cross/Embankment stations) yesterday. Looked like it is brand new, but it wasn't open when we walked past. Menu looks promising and reasonably priced. if anyone has any knowledge of it, would love to hear your experiences, can;t find anything online.

PL and I went on Friday, we shared Nachos (which were brilliant, really great guacamole, seriously lovely roasted chilli salsa), then had tacos ( I had the pastor (grilled spit roast pork/bacon) which was to die for, I normally hate fruit and meat, but the pineapple with the smokiness was lush! Carnitas were also great, then I had the Huitlacoche Mexican truffle quesadilla, which I thought had a weird texture, BUT the flour tortilla was amazing so I probably just picked the wrong thing (wanted to try something new) and PL had the Gringa I believe which looked lovely.

Also they bring you a little tray of salsas, including a really great verde.

Margaritas were awesome! We had guava, mango, tomato/strawberry and kiwi-coriander.
PL had the Kiwi-Coriander and i was totally jealous as it was gorgeous

Really good prices as well Even with some giant margaritas it was pretty good prices

I'd be totally happy to go again

The vegetarian tacos were very good. I second what cb said. We could have a lovely girly night!

I live in Oklahoma City and moving to Wales in September '11. I am soooooo going to miss having amazing (authentic) Mexican on every other corner! However, the fact that curry is so commonplace in the UK is thrilling to me that I think I'll be okay with the trade-off.

I was disappointed with this place actually.   But yes, Mimi, the excellent curry almost makes up for the lack of good mexican food.
