Generally, I only like them when they're hot, and really only the glazed ones -- although this mention of lemon meringue has me intrigued.

I usually only get the hot glazed ones as well.  But there weren't any hot ones when we got there the first time and my friend got the lemon meringue one so I did the same.  So good!  Well, they're good if you like lemon meringue pie I guess.  The filling is lemon and the top is "iced" with meringue of the lemon meringue pie variety (as opposed to pavlova kind).

When we left I bought a dozen to go, and I picked out a mixed variety selection instead of just getting glazed (which is what I've done for years).  My husband only likes the original glazed so he was disappointed but my kids were thrilled!

Aren't KK banned in alot of countries because of the transfats?  They put me off a bit...what does Hot Now mean...are the KK's usually cold?

I think they reduced or eliminated the transfats in Krispy Kremes.  It's not that hard to do in any food since the artificial transfats are pretty much from partially-hydrogenated oils.

Hot Now means that they are right out of the oven, and that supposedly makes them taste better.  I don't think it does, personally, but to each his own.  That said, what I've seen packaged as "American Donuts" here are vile and Krispy Kremes are better than them, if just slightly.

Not really a fan of KK donuts, then huh?  ;)  I can't even remember the last time I had a donut of any kind.

I can! It was the last time I had a KK in London! Honestly, the only doughnuts I ever eat are KKs and, since London is the only place I can get them, I only ever have one when I'm there - which is once a year at the very most. So I don't really worry too much about overdoing it on the fats.

I don't think I trust people who don't like Krispy Kremes.  ;) ;D

I don't eat a lot of sweet things (normally, although lately I'm not sticking to that well).  When I do have something like a donut, I go for a pastry of some sort.  That said, when I was in the States, I had a big apple fritter.  Yum.  I love crullers as well, but what KK sells as a cruller is just wrong.  All it seems to be is one of their donuts in a different shape.

I hate KK's as well, they're too sweet for me, they make my mouth sort of pucker with the sweetness, so cloying and disgusting -gross. The boy likes them though - a lot!
I sometimes bring them up north for my team up there as you can't get them, the guys go nuts for them.

I do really like Round Rock donuts in Austin though - yum!
