One of the historic houses near us is having a Halloween Ghost walk that we are planning to go to.

Minneapolis to be exact.   Just because some people call it "Tar-zhay", it has nothing to do with France or "French people".

If by "all the things my hubby goes on about them", your husband is saying that a French owned company would never come to the UK for one reason or another, he is mistaken. In addition to Squirrellypoo's example, think of all the Peugeots you see driving around.  That's a silly thing to say.
Be careful of spreading prejudices that your husband may have or taking one person's word for an entire population's view on something.

I was by no means trying to be prejudice against anyone. I just had a bad feeling that they wouldn't. I was wrong, and I'm sorry. IMHO I think the whole thing is ridiculous, people still hating people for things that happened decades ago! And my husband didn't say that the store wouldn't come over here for that reason, I meant that the way he goes on about them I wouldn't be surprised. And next time I will be sure to do my research, but it wasn't just one person who told me that.  :-\\\\ I'm really sorry if I offended anyone, I wasn't aiming to!

It'll be a bit late for this year, but I saw an advert on the Food Network for their Halloween weekend (stupidly over Halloween weekend!)

It looked like they had a lot of interesting cakes, cookies and such.
