Hi to all Americans in the UK

I was traveling on the tube in London today on 14 October and an American girl was sitting next to me checking her phone screen with this site on it.

I came home and looked it up. I am happy to see there is a nice and large American community in the UK.

I am a British-Hungarian, my grandmother is American from OH. I only spent eight years altogether in the US including my uni studies in NJ.
 
If anybody needs help or advice related or unrelated to the many different issues people post here, drop me a line and if I know the answer I write back. I know quite a lot about European Union/UK related issues like travel, settling, health insurance, health care, etc. If I don't know sg, I will try to send you a good guide or a link.
I don't mind helping; I was helped by a lot of nice people in the US and still many thanks for that.
I am located in London during the week and in Dorset county by the seaside on weekends.

Hope to talk to you guys.

Welcome!!!! It is cool you found this site and there are a lot of us out here and we can always use new friends...I am in Brixham in the Southwest I can see the Dorset coast from my sunroom window  ;D

That's what I was wondering, too! We could start a contest to see if anyone could narrow it down (time of day, tube line, etc) but it would probably turn out to be a lurker  :)

No, I don't think she was a lurker. She was probably in her early 20s, spoke with an American accent when she was on the phone. She was kind of pretty with long dark brown hair, brown eyes with only a few extra lbs, but still on the eye-catching side when one is not skinny, looks healthy and has a little meat on the bone.
I was on the Stratford bound over-ground train soon after 5pm. I got on at Finchley Rd-Frognal station and she got off I think at West-Hampstead or Camden Town. Not sure.
I think she was talking about changing jobs or sg but and I did not listen to what she said. I only listed to her accent. She said “I love you too” about two or three times to the person on the other end. I don’t know if that was her granny or a bf.

Yes, let’s track her down then :)

I'm originally from Ohio.  I think there should be a thread (or a poll) as to how you found your way to the site.  If anything, it would be just for fun.
